The Fender Player II Modified Telecaster SH couples a hot-rodded combination of classic design and player-centric features that bridges the gap between iconic Tele tone and modern performance. With its Player II Noiseless pickups and a modified circuit featuring a treble bleed, the Player II Modified Telecaster SH operates with a noise-free, consistent tone — even at lower volumes. In the neck position, a Player II Modified humbucker is thick but articulate with a push-pull split switch to toggle classic single-coil Tele tones. An alder body, a modern C maple neck, and a rolled fingerboard add up to refined playability, complete with newly designed sting trees and short shaft locking tuners for added stability.

A modified Tele experience

With a classic Fender shape and softer edges, the Player II Modified Telecaster SH plays like a Tele should, with a light, fast feel that few other designs can rival. Large enough to be comfortable in hand, the modern C shape is iconic for a reason, allowing enough girth for chords while remaining agile for faster runs and solos. The rolled fingerboard edges are free from sharp edges with a contour that mimics the hand's natural curvature.

A set of ClassicGear short-shaft locking tuners adorns the headstock, allowing for fewer wraps while helping to hold your strings closer to the headstock for added stability. Debuting in 1998, Fender’s Noiseless single-coil changed the guitar world. Fender modified this iconic design to create its exclusive Player II Noiseless Tele pickup, which offers the iconic Tele twang with articulate highs, aggressive mids, and mellow lows. A modified circuit brings modern flexibility to this Telecaster, with features that retain vintage tones while adding an assortment of contemporary sounds. Meanwhile, a treble bleed pot adds a highpass filter as you lower the volume, keeping the crisp high end that is often lost at lower volumes. In the neck, you’ll engage humbucker warmth, with the Player II Modified humbucker providing fat tone without sacrificing articulation. Pull on the tone pot and split the humbucker, transforming your tone with the classic single-coil neck tones for which the Tele is known.
