It all starts with seven amplifier and cabinet models: Chime, Dynamic, Crunch, Heavy, Lead, Clean, and Special. Boost, Overdrive, Distort, and Fuzz distortion effects are included, as well as Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, and Tremolo modulation effects. Delay options include Analog, Digital, Tape, and Pong, and reverb types include Spring, Hall, Plate, and Space. The POD Express also includes tap tempo, a noise gate, and a full-featured looper.

Operating the POD Express Guitar is extremely intuitive. Its 5-knob interface includes Distortion, Mod, Amp, Delay, and Reverb knobs that double as Gain, Mid, Channel Volume, Bass, and Treble when you press the Alt button. You also get On and Tap footswitches. Deploying the built-in tuner and saving patches is just as simple.
