Launched in 1976, the SSL 4000 Series revolutionized music production. The rare SL 4000 B console helped create hits like “Intruder” by Peter Gabriel and “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins. The SL 4000 E, introduced in 1979, became the heartbeat of studios like Abbey Road and Electric Lady, empowering engineers like Hugh Padgham, Chris & Tom Lord-Alge, and Andy Wallace.

Meet Revival 4000

This 1U channel strip includes the E Series JT-115K-E mic preamp, B Series De-Esser, Class A VCA dynamics, and the iconic 4-band parametric EQ. With flexible routing, insert points, and stereo linking, it brings SSL’s analogue heritage into any modern studio.

4000 E Series Mic Preamp

Featuring the original Jensen transformer-balanced circuit, it delivers rich, pristine recordings with SSL’s classic clarity.

4000 B Series De-Esser

Uses a 10:1 ratio and 7 kHz high-pass filtered sidechain to tame sibilance in vocals, drums, and aggressive sources.

4000 E Series Dynamics

True RMS detection and discrete Class A VCA gain reduction. Offers soft/hard knee, fast attack, and flexible release curves for tonal shaping.

Classic 4-Band EQ

Includes 'Brown Knob' 02 and 'Black Knob' 242 circuits. Fully parametric mids, shelving highs/lows, and switchable bell response. The 242 offers ±18 dB range and steeper filters for tighter control.

Flexible Routing

Balanced insert point, external sidechain input, and process-order routing. Ideal for stereo setups and advanced signal chains.
