Overview

Shape Twin is the flagship of the Shape line. This 2.5-way monitoring loudspeaker features excellent readability across the entire audio spectrum, combined with extended low-frequency response and a high SPL (110.5 dB) for its size. Equipped with two 5" (13 cm) Flax cone woofers reproducing the 40 Hz - 2.5 kHz register, it shines in terms of performance and design.

Passive Radiator for Deeper Bass

A passive radiator enclosure provides the benefits of a bass-reflex enclosure in a very small footprint. It uses a bass driver without a motor (coil and magnet) instead of a vent. This design allows for extended low-frequency response and excellent power handling in a small enclosure volume.

Flax Membrane: Sound Purity and Precision

The centerpiece of a loudspeaker, the cone is at the heart of our acoustic engineers' research. After more than five years of research and development, Focal unveiled an exclusive cone made of flax in 2013. This patented Flax cone is a sandwich made of very high-quality French flax fiber placed between two thin sheets of fiberglass. It meets all the criteria of a high-fidelity cone: lightness to offer good dynamics, rigidity to hold the bass, and damping to deliver a neutral, natural sound, without coloration.

NIC Technology: Very High Sound Definition

For very high-definition sound, controlling the magnetic field circulating in the speaker is essential. Our acousticians have created an incredibly stable magnetic circuit, guaranteeing perfectly controlled sound: NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit) technology. This patented technology resides in a Faraday ring whose dimensions, material, and positioning are optimized to make the magnetic field stable and thus the sound very precise.
