The PURE DRIVE QUAD harnesses Solid State Logic's renowned SuperAnalogue PureDrive™ microphone preamp technology, originally featured in the ORIGIN console. This advanced unit introduces a new DRIVE mode, comprehensive connectivity, and state-of-the-art digital conversion, all within a compact 4-channel 2U rackmount format. The ORIGIN recording console first introduced the PureDrive™ microphone preamplifier, maintaining clarity and punch while allowing a warm, harmonically rich driven tone that varies with gain.

Analogue Obsession

PURE DRIVE QUAD delivers four microphone preamps with ORIGIN’s PURE and DRIVE modes, adding a new Asymmetric DRIVE, advanced digital connectivity, and an onboard USB interface.

It offers four mic preamp input impedance options, independent +48V phantom power, polarity inversion, and a sweepable High Pass Filter per channel.

PURE DRIVE QUAD uses digitally controlled analogue circuits with no electro-mechanical components in the critical signal path, ensuring longevity and precise channel matching. Each mic pre can be switched between Clean, Classic Drive, and Asymmetric Drive modes.

Clean Mode

Clean mode delivers ultra-low noise performance and faithful source capture with exceptional clarity.

Classic Drive

Classic Drive generates predominantly odd harmonics, delivering the same drive character found on the ORIGIN console.

Asymmetric Drive

Asymmetric Drive emphasizes even harmonics, adding thickness, colouration, and softer transients.

Mic Impedance Input

Four selectable impedance options allow precise microphone matching or tonal shaping, particularly useful with ribbon and dynamic microphones.

Independent Gain, Trim and HPF Controls

GAIN: Stepped control up to +65 dB.

TRIM: 31-step control with 1 dB increments.

HPF: Variable high-pass filter up to 300 Hz.

Advanced Connectivity

PURE DRIVE QUAD provides comprehensive analogue and digital I/O, including an integrated USB soundcard for high-quality recording in studio or mobile environments.

Connectivity includes rear combo XLR inputs, front-panel Hi-Z/DI inputs, D-sub line inputs, insert sends/returns, ADAT, AES/EBU, USB, and word clock I/O.
